Joe Gibbs R.I.P.

I just read that Joe Gibbs (legendary Jamaican reggae engineer/ producer/ record label founder) just died a few days ago. Very sad loss. He died of a heart attack at the age of 65. He created many of the big roots and rocksteady riddims of the late 60's and early 70's and continued to produce hit after hit into the 80's dancehall era.

Check out this great collection, released on Soul Jazz, of some of his best works. Classics like Culture's "Two Sevens Clash" and "See Them A Come", Junior Murvin's "Cool Out Son", Dennis Brown's "I'm Coming Home" ... ooooh, deadly stuff!

Enjoy this one, and pay respects to the late, great, Joe Gibbs. R.I.P.

P.S. Check out a few more Joe Gibbs albums recently up at You & Me On A Jamboree blog also!

PEACE.1.D.
